Poker is a popular gambling game. Poker is played by placing bets into a central pot. The player with the best poker hand wins the pot.<\/p>\n
Before betting, each player is dealt a card face down. A poker variant determines the style of the cards that are dealt.<\/p>\n
Each player is then allowed to discard two or three cards. In some games, the ace is treated as the lowest card. Players can also shuffle their own cards.<\/p>\n
In any poker game, the highest ranking poker hand wins the pot. If two or more players tie for the highest card, the high card breaks the tie.<\/p>\n
In the first round of betting, the bettor has to place a minimum bet. This can be called a forced bet. It is a bet that no other player can call.<\/p>\n
After the first round, there are two rounds of betting. These intervals are referred to as the draw and the betting. During the draw phase, the player gets a new card.<\/p>\n
The first bettor may check in later betting intervals. If the first bettor checks, the player behind him must raise or drop.<\/p>\n
For each round of betting, each player puts in the same number of chips. This amount is referred to as the ante. Usually, the ante is the minimum bet.<\/p>\n
