Poker is a card game played by two or more players. Each player puts up a wager (the amount varies by game) before being dealt cards. The highest hand wins the pot. Some games include wild cards, which can take on any suit or rank.<\/p>\n
When you deal yourself a pair of kings off the deck, you’re not dealing yourself a great hand, but it’s not bad either. Once betting comes around and you’re in the hand, you can call (match) the bet of the player to your right and place chips or cash into the pot. If you don’t want to bet more than the player to your right, you can call their raise instead.<\/p>\n
Once the first round of betting is over, you’ll bet again, but this time against a new hand. If you have a strong hand at this point, you can continue to raise the stakes by calling or raising the bet of players to your right.<\/p>\n
When the final betting round begins, the player with the best hand wins the pot. Each player’s hand is made up of five cards, and each card has a different rank from one another. If you have three matching cards of one rank, it’s a full house. If you have five consecutive cards of the same suit, it’s a straight.
